The monies are surplus to the groups running costs and are primarily funded from excesses at our annual seminars. Some monies allocated in 2008 were not utilised and have subsequently been transferred to other projects this year

Crucial Crew 2009

On Tuesday 14 July Derek Fabby, Mike and Cathy Nixon visited the South Manchester Crucial Crew VIP Day at Manchester City College, Northenden Campus.

Pupils from two Manchester Primary Schools attended the event where representatives from Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, ASBAT, GMPTE, Road Safety Unit and A1+ (Highways) were present. Unfortunately North West Ambulance Service was unable to be represented, so a DVD was shown which gave the children some indications of how to cope in a medical emergency.

The children were divided in groups of approximately ten to a topic, where they spent time discussing what to do in a particular set of circumstances. The professionals attending gave children an insight into the key elements of antisocial behaviour, personal safety and good citizenship
